TREND REPORT: Spring 2014

The Camel Coat

Spring is already on my mind and while I'm still mentally on Christmas vacation [in Dominica] and almost never prepared for snow storms, I took this time to feature a classic look paired with an awesome trend and swatch color: The Camel Coat
Emerson Fry- SINGLE WELT COAT, Elibeth Roanoke- THEORY LONG COAT, Ann Taylor- FAUX LEATHER TRIM WOOL BLENDASOS- KNEE LENGTH OVER COAT,  J. Crew Stadium- CLOTH CACOON, Club Manaco- ASHLEY QUILTED

We briefly saw the likes of  Kim K. in her lengthy Max Mara number, while transitioning from summer into fall 2013, but it didn't last too long, so I'm sure we will see it again. If you happen to notice lengthy camel, vintage inspired, trench coats (in various fabrics) around your city as the weather begins to break in a few more moths, don't be alarmed and just get on board. Because It's one trend I actually don't mind wearing.

The Camel Coat is a fan favorite simply because it's a rule breaker---in my opinion. There is no fashion editor pulling from luxury  houses and telling you which labels or fabric to wear.  Not to mention, since it is a classic look that's making a modern comeback, you may even already OWN a camel coat and forgot all about it --- I purchased my camel coat in Spring 2009 from another vintage reseller in Virginia (who I found on Ebay) and wore it for the first time in Spring 2013! (well before it was a chosen trend)--yep, no style pressure this coming season, just STYLE.

Blow the dust of your Camel Coat, pair it with your favorite white skinny's and go!
Or, take a trip down to your local vintage thrift store and find something slim and chic, you can't go wrong this spring.

Thoughts?!
What do you think of this outerwear trend ? Do you have a favorite style of Camel Coat? Will you be rockin a Camel Coat this spring?
