NYFW FW14 DAY 1: Review6:23 PM
NYFW started off with BCBG MAXAZRIA showcasing subdued pastels, long dresses with fur accents and geomotric design. A collection every woman can wear where sensible yet stylist knee high boots and lots of fur accesssories; collars, muffs, shearling models kept quite warm on the runway!"All celebrities are welcome and I'm very happy to see them. But it's about the clothes. The focus is on the clothes," says Azria. "People have to like the clothes."
I agree, with Max, the clothes were the stars.
Nicholas K showed us Goth Chic in their presentation with daring deep plunging blouses and bear all abs in low cut trousers. Very edgy, models sported sleek black bobs and fur hoodies.
Mostly menswear styled layering and loose fitting garments in chalky neutrals, deep washed denims with hints of cherry chocolate reds. Nicholas K stayed true to his street wanderer style or as the Kuntz' would say “global luxury brand that elicits the modern urban nomad.”
Richard Chai pays Homage to 90's grunge, his palette consisted of plums, greens, camel and navy hues. His use of bold stripes elegant brocade and sequins was the centre of his collection
His outerwear had sort of an avaitor feel with chocolate leather jackets and cropped mottos . The oversized jackets and trench coats lends the "borrowed boyfriend" feel if you ask me, effortless tailoring and modern contemporary design!
