The Belles of the Ball x some Tuxes Too

Ms. LeBlanc's Favorite Looks

The stars were aligned on Monday night as Hollywood's most stylish celebs hit the red carpet, in NYC, for the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Fundraising Gala.
The Met Ball annual fundraising gala is hosted by American Vogue's Editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour and is considered as the fashion industry's premier red carpet event. This year the ball continued to raise funds for the Museum's Costume Institute charging $25,000 per ticket ( a little higher than last year). Last Nights red carpet  seemed like a decked out "couples night" as Anna hosted with the darling Sarah Jessica Parker --who christened the red carpet to greet other arriving guests-- and a beefed up Bradley Copper.

This years ball seemed way less "costume-y" as the "White Tie and Decorations" was prominent on the red carpet. Most attendees turned out with huge smiles and illuminating energies turning up the elegance factor with vintage inspirations. The exciting night to play "dress-up" for some of the most fashionable folks in the industry, honored and opened the exhibition for late couturier, Charles James.

While many missed the mark showing way too much skin, or tried too hard rocking cut-out and having peep shows, I can't wait to see what Auntie Joan has to say. There's also a lot of wild shenanigans that are slowly emerging after the event, I'm actually hearing that some folks won't even be asked back next year, yiikkes! here are some of my favorite threads draped on the friends in my head

Lucia N'yongo: Prada

The Brown Flapper: Lupita received mixed reviews for her daring look, something a little more edgy than her previously polished looks. However I think she carries this 1920's flapper inspired beaded prada number extremely well!
STYLE TIP: CONFIDENCE makes any look

Sarah Silverman: Cleans up ever so nicely
the potty mouth Chuck Taylor and dust jean comedy queen, dropped jaws as she elegantly carried this Burgundy bellowing gown down the red carpet.

FIT FOR A QUEEN BEY: Flamenco Glam
Beyonce gave us flamenco glam as she stepped out in this decorated and intricately beaded all over sequin gown with plunging neckline and a thigh high slit with matching hair/face netting.

I doubt anyone else had their stylist on hand to make SURE the perfect photo of the dress was taken. But then again NO ONE else is Beyonce Knowles Carter, Hunni!
And don't you forget it.
Stylist, Tye Hunter executed extremely well as there was not a stitch out of place for the perfect photo!

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen: Chanel
TWINSIES: America's favorite and twins hit the mark, as usual, donning vintage Chanel. The trench coat inspired ball gowns had MK and Ashley back in their twin days, this time with a bit of a twist. The ladies complemented each other very nicely as they were the perfect couple for the evening.

Eryka Badu: Stayed True
This Eastern Star left the luxurious hair at home as she reminded us who the originator of the Stove Top Hat--post Lincoln, pre Pharell-- truly is.
Eryka rocked elegant wide leg pants, chandelier earrings, a cream and bedazzled stove top hat and matching overcoat pulling the menswear look off seamlessly.

Rihanna: Stella McCartney
Rih-Rih kept it very sexy showing a tight tummy and flawless back in this Stella McCartney white ensemble, with texture detailing and elegant trail.

Tabitha Simmons: Full Bloom

Probably the most accurate ensemble for the evening. Shoe designer, Tabitha Simmons was in FULL BLOOM as she glided down the red carpet in the decorated nude colored gown adorned with blush flowers.

Janelle Monae: Todashi Shoji
The Covergirl gave us serious regality as she stepped out in this Black White and Red Todashi Shoji gown and cape.

Charlize Theron: Dior
Charlize Theron is ever so breath taking in this black and white vintage gown by Christian Dior. Charlize was also 1 of a many couples who made a red carpet debut with new significant others; Her's = Veteren actor, Sean Penn.

Taylor Swift: Oscar de la Renta
T. Swizzle kept it signature as she continues to channel old Hollywood glam with signature red lips and pin curls in this rose pink sequined and flowing gown by Oscar de la Renta.

The GUYS Have It
The men did not disappoint as they carried out the  "White Tie" theme to the fullest. Plenty of Suit & Ties and tuxedo tails floated down the carpet as well. Take a look at some dapper penguins!

Frank Ocean:
The Odd Future member donned the signature white jacket and bow tie, looking a little mean but very fresh!

Neil Patrick Harris x David Burtka: Matchy Matchy
The longtime couple looked powerful in their matching Crop top Tuxedos and super tails at the gala.

John Legend x Chrissy Teigen: Glow

Enough Said.

Kanye also opt for the cropped Tuxe and Tails, and very tight Tuxedo pants...geez, don't you want another kid, Ye?!

Johnny Depp x Amber Heard
Johnny Depp completed the signature white tie look for a pocket watch AND cane!
