Check Out The Essence Street Style x Block Party

This Sunday Essence magazine hosted it's  annual Street Style Block Party in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Down Under Manhattan's Bridge came alive with the elegance of Essence Magazine and it's  reading community. Essence kicked off the 2nd full week of NY Fashion Week with a street style block party that was hosted by Vanessa Simmons, and featured a performance by Jazzmin Sullivan. I attended the event with 3 of my Blogger babes, and we arrived a bit after 4pm; just in time to catch action of the streets!

Artisans and vendor tents, face painting by Shea Moisture and all of the stylish glory by the inhabitants of Brooklyn. The DUMBO Archway hosted the event that was not to be missed---combining art, culture, style, music, shopping and food all in one space. Surprise guests, TV personalities, Brooklyn celebrities, Internet phenoms, taste-makers, and influences were all co-mingling in all their stylish glory together on Sunday.

Essence highlighted 2 up and coming artists giving them the Ultimate soapbox---pun intended--- by showcasing their artwork wrapped on the new Chevrolet Cruze; an official sponsor of the event. Brooklyn artist and friend [of many of my close friends and fam] Ron Bass was one of the featured artist, along with Persian sweatheart and Jewelry maven, Melody Ehsani, who gave me great advice regarding my artwork. It's always a treat seeing family, fellow artists, movers, shakers and other bloggers together in the name of style, community and togetherness. I ran into so many great industry friends, made new ones keekee'd with old.

Right when the event was dying down, The height of the the Essence Style awards and red carpet revved up some more; We literally stumbled on to it (No, seriously, I tripped on some gaff wire before noticing June Ambrose taking the first step out of her Uber). And the real fun began!

Check out the fun as we kicked it with the up-and coming's like Stylist Harrion C, DJ Tiff McFierce, Breonn Robinson, Dana Blair the Rockstar Twinz and those who paved the way for us all like the legendary Bethanne Hardsion -- who remember that she told me that we should "go on a date" back in April--- Tracee Ellis Ross, Jay Manuel and others

with Jewelry Designer and Artist, Melody Ehsani. Thank you for the advice!!
